Group 90th Birthday Camp, 14/16 July 2017
1st Kesgrave Scout Group 90th Birthday Camp, 14/16 July 2017
Dear Parent / Carer
1st Kesgrave Scout Group is 90 years old in 2017 and we are having a Special Birthday Camp to celebrate.
Vauxhall Farm Christian Trust Camp Site, Great Wenham, CO7 6QQ
Dates and Times:
Camp opens Friday 14th July, 7pm
Camp closes Sunday 16th July, 2:30pm (approximately)
Who is invited:
All Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are invited.
Explorers who are also Young leaders would be most welcome to join the camp to help as a leader for the weekend.
This is NOT a family camp - the camp is only for our young people. (Sorry to disappoint you adults, but sometimes, the children do have all the fun!!).
We may well need some parental help. If that might be you, please let me or your section leader know and we will be in touch once we know what assistance we need. To come on camp , you will require a Scouts DBS check.
Beavers will sleep in the Groups Troop tents.
Cubs will use a combination of Bell tents on site and troop tents.
Scouts will need to bring their own tent and should arrange to share with 1 or more other Scouts.
The cost for the weekend is £30 for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. This will cover all activities, food and camp fees.

The full list of activities is still to be confirmed, but there will be a full day of fun activities on Saturday with more fun and games on Sunday. These will include activities such as:
- Climbing Tower & Bouldering Wall
- Backwoods Cooking
- Water Rockets & other experiments
- A variety of crafts
- Cake making
- Camp fire
- Birthday party games
- And plenty of fun!
Notes for Parents:
There will be a meeting for parents in June to provide some guidance on camping kit Do's & Dont's, as we all know what a minefield it is out there. I will also look into organising a group order at either Mountain Warehouse or Go Outdoors - last time we did this we secured a bigger Group Discount than we could individually. Keep an eye out for an invitation to such an event once we have been able to sort something out.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
